SA Property Bonanza - 12th June 2005
International Property Solutions (IPS) hosted another successful sell-out event in London on 12 June 2005 attended by over 150 people.
The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the calibre of the speakers, not least the keynote speaker Charles Everitt, Chairman and founder of Chas Everitt International. Mr Everitt presented the London audience with a heartfelt overview of the South African property market, expressing his belief in the country and its future. He urged South Africans to believe in their country and most of all to realise the potential which the country has. Mr Everitt’s speech set the tone for the day and the audience were privileged to hear from one of the legends of the South African property industry.
Scott Picken, founder of IPS, presented an analysis of the South African market, IPS’ view of where it was going and how an investor could make money in the current market. He attempted to dispel many of the rumours about the property ‘bubble’ and discussed the importance of financial knowledge to enable informed decision-making when investing in property.
The afternoon schedule comprised in-depth presentations on four key South African property markets - Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, the Garden Route and the Western Cape. The talks were presented by Patrick Brown (director, IPS Gauteng), Mark Taylor (Owner and CEO of Elan Property Group, KwaZulu-Natal), Andy Todd (Director, Seeff Southern Suburbs, Western Cape) and Ciaran McGuckian (Owner and MD of MCG Properties, Garden Route), each of whom presented the hungry London audience with an overview of the market in which they operate and provided information on selected development and investment opportunities on their books. Each of the speakers stated how impressed they were at the number of London-based South Africans who expressed an interest in investing in South Africa.
The event was concluded with presentations on relevant property services by industry professionals to provide investors with a complete armoury when tackling the property market. Delegates were presented with information regarding mortgages, presented by IPS Mortgages, foreign exchange, presented by SGM-FX, and the financial implications of investing in South Africa with hard earned currency from the UK, presented by Sable Wealth Management.
The feedback from the event has been tremendous and the IPS team is working flat-out with its partners to provide solutions for the huge number of investment enquiries that were experienced following the event. Following the huge success of the day, IPS has already started planning its next event in September and intends to host a far bigger event with even more representation from South Africa!
