Newsletter - November 2005
Finally, we can share the news of the latest updates to our website with you! We have
added two important new sections to our website: a login section and a property search
facility.
Your Property Requirements
The login section allows you to create your own personal account on our website, through
which you can specify exactly what type of property you are looking for - your price range,
the number of bed-rooms & bath-rooms, the areas you prefer, etc. etc. You can then specify
how you would like this information to be used to help you find this property: by customising
your Property Alert settings, and by allowing Agent Access to your data.
If you select the last option, your details will be available to the agents and developers
which we work with, allowing them to contact you with suitable properties or line-up
viewings if you are heading out to South Africa.
Click here to create your personal account now.
Existing Properties Online
The property search facility allows you to search through the latest properties on offer
through our partnerships with South African estate agents. We've already had 53 properties
uploaded in the last week, with lots more to follow!
There is an enquiry form on each property page which will forward your enquiry directly
to the agent; IPS can then assist you with your enquiry, the purchase process and
arranging the finances, if required.
Click here to go to the search page.
Market, Economic & Property News Review
According to ABSA, nominal house price growth in October dropped to 15.8% year-on-year, the
lowest level since August 2002. Overall house price growth throughout 2005 is now expected
to be 22%. Read more...
Most of the current debate about the interest rate is whether a rate rise will be seen
in December or if it will be in early 2006. But is the logic for a rate rise sound?

We also have a good article on what's needed for sustainable growth in South Africa,
a going home guide if you're looking to buy property, and an article on SIPPs
(see below).
SIPPs & South African Property
We have had a lot of enquiries since Ian Fife wrote this article in the Financial
Mail about using SIPPs (Self-Invested Pension Plans) to buy property in South Africa. SIPPs
are still the subject of much debate and confusion, and at this point we are not yet in a
position to discuss them with you. We are currenly working on a solution ahead of the 6th
April 2006, at which point the legislation comes into play. Watch this space!
Going Home at the End of the Year?
A lot of South Africans will be going home over Christmas and a lot of them will be
actively looking for property. Most people know the property market has done exceptionally
well and they want to get involved, but they are scared to get involved as there are
so many risks and unknowns. This “mini-guide” can help you if you are one of those
that are thinking of buying. Read more...
If you are going home, a reminder about how we can help you: The Power of Property
is a short handbook on buying property in South Africa while living and working abroad; we
have our last two IPS workshops of the year coming up: How To Buy a House in South Africa
and South African Property Investment; and there is still just enough time to get a
mortgage preapproval before you go. And don't forget to create an account and
let us know what you'll be looking for, or search our property listings for properties
currently available.
Wealth Creation Workshop - Your Last Chance!
Dr. Hannes Dreyer is in London this Saturday, 26th of November, to present his Wealth
Creation Workshop. Tickets are still available.
This advanced workshop focuses on using property as an investment tool to build a property
investment portfolio, and create your own wealth. If you're looking for the
"quick-fix" type of property workshop, this is NOT for you. There are plenty of
those sort of courses in London that will charge you up to ten times the price.
Instead, Hannes teaches sound property analysis techniques, as well as his principles
of Wealth Creation. Click here to read the feedback from his last workshop.
If you are interested in the workshop, unfortunately we have run out of Free CD's, but you can
download an e-book of Dr. Dreyer's that gives an introduction to his Wealth Creation Formula
by clicking here.
If you're going back to South Africa or not, the whole team at IPS would like to wish
you all a very happy festive season and a prosperous 2006!
Keep warm & happy investing!
