"After living abroad for a few years, I had no earnings history nor credit history for those years in SA, so no bank wanted to even talk to me re: a mortgage. I went back to UK and continued calling and emailing and after months of chatting to loads of people and facing many dead-ends I eventually happened to find a particular mortgage broker who listened to my plight and we managed to use proof of my UK earnings to get a mortgage. The whole process took me 9 months to buy a property"

We had so many stressful problems trying to buy property in South Africa. If we had known about IPS previously we would definitely have used your services.
The biggest issues for us were the mistakes with the bond documents and the interest rate being incorrect. The lawyers 'forgot' to send us the documents to sign so it became a big rush to get them all certified and signed and sent back on time. This cost us because we had to pay about £50 for a courier and then we had to pay for a public notary to certify all the documents - which was almost another £250. If we had gotten the documents on time, we could have taken them to the South African embassy and had them done for free.
Then when the documents were emailed to us, there were silly errors like names being spelt wrong etc. The interest rate on the bond documents was also incorrect (the banks fault we believe) which further delayed the process.
We were never sent the debit order authorisation form to authorise the money coming off our account as they assumed we were going to send the money directly from overseas.
Transfer eventually took place almost 3 weeks late. We are still owed money by the previous owners for rent.

"I met the management guy in their Sandton branch who gave me the full run down of their services and rather hefty costs (finders fees, etc) and as I was pressed for time, I handed over the keys to them for them to find a tenant and let it out. I never once got a phone call in 2 months - I had to always call them, and so I decided to take my business elsewhere, but ended up asking my old man to look for a tenant, and after an advert in the paper within 2 weeks he found one for me."
